The Stonewall Acres website has a new look and address. Learn how the changes provides the site-owners with a means to get information as well as participate in the day to day life in our campground.
WELCOME to the new STONEWALL ACRES website. My name is Deb Young and I am the new website manager. Our original website was created and managed for many years by Arlene Dutton who has graciously handed the privilege over to me. Please visit the ANNOUNCEMENT page to read more about our farewell to the Duttons..
At first glance, you will note that the STONEWALL ACRES website has received a slight 'face lift' with changes that combine the new with the old. Although the HOME page appears to be the same with the familiar image of our entrance, it now has a banner with photos displaying some of our campground's highlights. To the right is the LATEST NEWS that scrolls alongside it with important updates of events and notices in the Park. The main menu includes PARK BUSINESS that covers the day-to-day operations of the community. Information such as the Executive Committee, Park Rules, General Meeting Minutes and Park Notices have been carried over from the original site. The site-owners' FORUM, a completely new feature, enables website members to post messages to the community in real time.
The COMMUNITY NEWS titled, "THE HAPPY CAMPER NEWSLETTER", is an extension to the original site and provides the Stonewall Acres site-owners' additional particulars of the campground's "comings and goings". The newsletter is divided into seven categories: PROJECTS AND EVENTS gives a quick glimpse of ongoing camp activities; ANNOUNCEMENTS welcome new site-owners, birthday and anniversary wishes, births, deaths notices, etc.; CLASSIFIED advertises items and property for sale or those in search of; FYI articles provide information on topics of interest and the Funny Bone adds a touch of humour. KIDS KORNER has activities and a TREASURE BOX with participation rewards for our younger campers and Entertainment has details on upcoming events and activities throughout the camping season. Last but not least, the FEATURE STORY and MEMORY LANE photo gallery now have their own page on the main menu. Please visit each section for more details on their content and updates.
As you have obviously already discovered, it is now necessary to SIGN UP and LOGIN to the Stonewall Acres website. This feature has been added to respect the confidentiality and privacy of Stonewall Acres and its site-owners. It is reserved for site-owners and their families and requires confirmation of the name and site address for the approval of all applicants. Once signed up, members are entitled to access to the Park Business, Community News, the Feature Story and the Memory Lane photo gallery by logging in to our site. There is also a "Forget your password" feature just in case you need it.
New posts will appear periodically or when there are contributions from the site-owners such as pictures, announcements, classified adds and so on. I recommend checking in regularly as the best way to keep up to date with the latest news in the community.
You will notice that many of the new posts will appear above the last one and will continue to compile as they increase. This will allow you to still view old articles that you might have missed beforehand or re-read them if you wish. Announcements for events or Park Notices will remain on the site for a period of time but will eventually be removed and updated as needed.
For those who are members of the Stonewall Acres Facebook page, there is a direct link from our website to it by clicking on the Facebook symbol. Please note that the Stonewall Acres website and the Facebook page are separate and managed independently. The link feature is only available for those who belong to both sites in which access is restricted unless membership has been approved by both website managers. To obtain membership to the Facebook page, please contact Kim Chevrier by friending her on the Stonewall Acres Facebook page.
Your questions and comments are always welcomed and can be sent by using the CONTACT US form that is available on right of the main menu or at the bottom of the home page for members or visitors. Your message will then be forwarded to someone who can assist you with your concerns.
I hope our readers will be encouraged to use the Stonewall Acres website as a source of reference and a way to keep up to date with any changes in the day to day operation of our 'park'. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with you all and sharing our Stonewall news.
HAPPY CAMPING,
Deb
